Areas identified for on-airport development are located to the east of existing. <br />storage facilities and on the airport's southwestern quadrant' These azeas appeaz <br />adequate to accommodate future laadside requirements. <br />(6) Funding Requirements <br />Short-term development projects for the airport include pavement <br />rehabilitation, acquisition of a 3.8-acre land parcel in the approach to Runway 18, <br />and security fencing. These and several other smaller projects are indicated on <br />MAC's five-year capital improvement .plan. Another project programmed in the <br />short-term is FAA installation of a D-Stile radar monitor. The total cost of all <br />recommended improvements for the airport in the short term is approximately one <br />million dollars. <br />Mid-term projects for the airport include extending Runway 9R/27L to 5,000 <br />feet and increasing its width to 100 feet. The cost estimate for this extension and <br />widening is estimated at 53.9 million.' The rnst includes acquiring land at 56,000 <br />per acre; moving We glideslope, middle marker, and approach lights; and <br />constructing a rumvay with a parallel taxiway. Othermid-term projects recommended <br />for the airport include a precision approach. ALSF approach lighting is also <br />recommended in rnnjunction with the addition of the precision approach. Additional <br />tie-down storage will also be required to accommodate the growth in the based <br />aircraft operating fleet. Total cost for all mid-term projects for the airport is <br />estimated at 55.3 million. <br />Long-term development costs for the airport include the cost of additional <br />aircraft storage.
