• A limited amount of on-airport development has been recommended for an <br />area north of Runway 3. A larger area is also available just west of Prairie Drive.10 <br />.These two on-airport development areas should acwmmodate landside expansion <br />throughout the planning period. <br />(6) Fundin¢ Renuirements <br />Short-term recommended projects for Lake Elmo Airport include the <br />installation of REIIs on all runway ends and a PAPI on Runway 3. Other projects <br />indicated is the MAC capital improvement plan include pavement rehabilitation <br />and crack sealing for runways and hangar aprons, site preparation for the northern <br />building area, security fencing, and replacing the equipment building fuel tank. The <br />estimated cost for all short-term improvements recommended for the airport is <br />5800,000. <br />The major mid-term improvement project for the airport is an extension to <br />Rttttway 3/21, which is estimated at 5691,000 based on inflating estimates provided <br />in the 1976 toaster plan. Aircraft storage, terminal/administration expansion (by <br />FBOs), and pavement rehabilitation are also rernmmended. The estimated cost for <br />all mid-term improvements recommended for the airport is 51.9 million. <br />Long-term development projects for the airport, consisting of additional <br />aircraft storage, are estimated to cost approximately 53.2 million dollars. <br />A summary of projects and potential funding sources for Lake Elmo Airport <br />is provided in Tabie V-12. <br />10 West Metro Airport Study: Needs Assessment, December 21, 1987. <br />V-86 <br />
