The airport currently has parking spaces available for 30 automobiles. Based on standard planning ratios, there is a current defiat of 66 auto parking spaces. By the end of the planning period, an additiona187 parking spaces will be required. The practice of parking next to storage facilities, however, will probably eliminate the need for this particular improvement. An expansion of the airport's 2,700•square foot terminal/adtttittistration building should also be wnsidered. Aa additional 1,800 square feet of terminal area will be required by the end of the planning period. The existing 6,667 squaze yards of itinerant ramp should be adequate for the planning period. Like the other reliever airports, pilots at Airlake felt that secure storage, snow removal, and fuel price aze very important in their location decision. The airport currently provides these and other services and should continue to do so throughout the planning period. (3) Airside Facilitie_a The airport's runway layout consists of a single runway (11/29) which is 4,100 feet long and 75 feet wide. Currently, 4,100 feet is available for departure in either direction and for Rumvay 11 landings; however, there is a 400-foot displaced threshold for landings on Runway 29. The maximum runway length that can be constructed at Airlake is 5,000 feet based on its role as a minor airport. According to the Airlake Airport Comprehensive Airport Development Plan, the existing runway should be extended 560 feet at the end of Runway 29 and 340 feet at the end of Rumvay 11.
