It will not be apparent for some time whether certain <br />recommendations that are key to a successful reliever system can be <br />implemented Additional studies will be required to determine project <br />feasibility, and monitoring of the existing system will be vital to <br />establishing the need to actually implement certain recommendations. T'he <br />continuous planning element of the Regional System Reliever Airports <br />Study has been divided into two components: follow-on studies and <br />monitoring and tracking efforts. Follow-on studies include: <br />Comprehensive plan updates as required <br />Environmental assessments for runway and airport development <br />Site feasibility analysis to determine the feasibility of developing <br />a general aviation airport in Search Area "A" <br />Fee structure review to encourage system diversion <br />Monitoring and tracking efforts include: <br />Activity counting programs to better determine actual aircraft <br />activity levels at nontowered airports <br />Track "A"/Track "B" selection path to determine the potential <br />impact on the reliever system <br />Metropolitan policy guide review to determine required changes <br />as they relate to study recommendations <br />-27- <br />METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br />
