6/24/75 AC 150/5300-4B <br />a. A view of airfield activities. The public likes to see the air- <br />planes and their operations. Do not put utility rooms, restrooms, <br />and other service facilities on the field side of the building <br />if it can be avoided. <br />b. A comfortable seating arrangement. This need not be fixed or <br />stereotyped. At a small airport such an arrangement is especially <br />good to promote the waiting room informality usually associated <br />with small airport operations. <br />c. Such concession items as coin -operated parcel lockers and small - <br />item dispensing machines. <br />d. A bulletin board for information of interest to private pilots <br />and the aviation public; for example, weather reports, notices <br />to airmen, and FAA information. <br />e. Space for the mounting of aeronautical charts. <br />f. A folding partition to provide dual space use. This flexible <br />arrangement conserves building space and makes it possible to <br />hold meetings in the administration building without disturbing <br />the essential business routine. <br />53. MANAGER'S OFFICE. <br />a. Variation in the room space for management use at a particular <br />airport is to be expected. The local management's space require- <br />ments should be determined after an analysis of the management <br />equipment, furnishings, and personnel space needs. <br />b. As a general planning guide, the minimum office size should be <br />about 180 square feet, an average of management operations office <br />areas sufficient for the furnishings and functions of an office <br />manned by a manager and one secretary. <br />54. EATING FACILITIES. Some provision for food services is usually planned <br />in the administration building for the comfort and convenience of <br />airport users. The scope of the eating facilities in the building <br />varies with local and itinerant aviation activity; there may be dis- <br />penser items, a snack bar, a coffee shop, a dining room, or any <br />combination of these. Quite often, the airport eating facility <br />attracts additional patrons because of its convenient location, <br />its unusual cuisine, or the interest the patrons take in aviation <br />activity. <br />Chap 10 <br />Par 52. <br />Page 55 <br />
