6
17l
January 19, 1987
Hakanson
Anderson
Assoc., Inc.
Mr. Dick Luhrsen
Minnesota Department of Transportation
Division of Aeronautics
Room 417, Transportatation Building
St. Paul, MN 55155
Re: Gateway Airport (Ramsey) Zoning
Dear Mr. Luhrsen:
Engineers, Surveyors 8.
Landscape Architects
We are submitting two copies of the draft zoning ordinance and
plans for Mn/DOT review prior to establishing a date for the first
public hearing on the proposed ordinance. The City Council will
meet January 27th at which time they will consider setting the
first public hearing date.
I bring your attention to several items which you should be
especially aware of:
1) The City Council is adopting the airport zoning ordinance
authority of Minn. Chapter 360.063, subdivision 1. Since
City neither owns nor controls the airport at the present
they cannot establish a joint zoning board as provided in
Chapter 360.063, subdivision 3.
2) Height limitation zoning and Safety Zone C impacts small areas
in the Cities of Anoka and Champlin, and a larger area in
Dayton. These areas will not be zoned with the City's adoption
of this ordinance. However, it is the City's intent that they
would request each of the other municipalities to adopt this
ordinance.
by
the
time,
Minn.
3. Airport elevation is established at 870' MSL.
4. All homes and uses in the B Zone of Runway 16 are exempted from
the use restrictions of V.B 2 and 3 and are to remain as
conforming uses since use was established prior to July 2, 1979
(identified on the plan).
5. Commercial uses in the Runway 34, B Zone were established in
1976 and are also exempted as identified on the plan.
222 Monroe Street
Anoka, Minnesota 55303
612/427-5860
Eugene J.
