9.0 AIRPORT LAYOUT PLAN
The airport layout plan graphically represents the proposed Gateway
North Industrial Airport Development Plan for the 20-year planning
period. The plans are a planning guideline for future development
and are not construction documents. The stages by which the develop-
ment plan is to be accomplished are not presented on the plans, but
rather are discussed separately in Chapter 10.
The following drawings are included in the airport layout plan set:
9.1 Title Sheet - Sheet 1
This drawing indicates the location of Gateway North Industrial
Airport in relation to the surrounding communities, the Metropo-
litan Area, other airports and existing roadway systems.
Also shown is the all-weather wind coverage provided by the
existing and recommended ultimate runway layout plan.
9.2 Airport Layout Plan - Sheet 2
This drawing shows the recommended physical development for
the airport through 2005. The drawing indicates existing
facilities (solid lines) and the ultimate facilities recom-
mendations (dashed lines). The major facilities recommended for
future development include a paved 60 x 3300' Runway 16-34. The
approach and clear zone areas are depicted off the runway ends
with a non -precision instrument approach serving each runway
end.
Other major facilities shown on this sheet are: an
arrival/departure building, maintenance hangar space (FBO)
if required, auto parking lots, additional hangar spaces
and a parallel taxiway.
The runway and airport data tables indicate specific items
related to the existing and ultimate development plan.
Additional recommendations such as: Medium Intensity Run-
way Lights (MIRL), pavement strength, runway approach sur-
faces, and approach aids are also indicated in the data
tables.
9.3 Building Area Plan - Sheet 3
The building area plan indicates the relationship of pro-
posed future building area development to the proposed run-
way and taxiway.
9-1
