. The City of Ramsey was successful in securing $2.6 million in federal and state grant
funding to help pay for construction of the ramp, with the balance paid by Ramsey Town
Center area assessments. An added $3.5 million in federal grant funding is being used
for expansion of the parking ramp and will add another 200 spaces.

. The public infrastructure benefits an area broader than just the Town Center. The bigger
picture involves enhancing safety and mobility in ways that compliment the station area
and improve the overall quality of life in the community. Examples include improving
access to amenities in the Town Center including the station by addressing unsafe
railroad crossings, congestion on Trunk Highway 10 and delays caused by numerous
signal lights.

. Construction of a pedestrian overpass that connects the station/Town Center area with
development on the south side of TH 10 will provide critical infrastructure tha"t allows
pedestrians to move safely and efficiently. The overpass will also connect to regional
parks and trail systems.

. The station is located within the only true transit-oriented development along the entire
Northstar line. The Ramsey Town Center was designed specifically with the commuter
rail station in mind - comprised of high-density housing and intense development that
compliments and encourages transit usage.

Ramsey has an opportunity to influence the economic vitality of the area in a positive
way, while at the same time funding critical infrastructure projects that will otherwise
wait decades to proceed.

3
