<br />Olsen suggested were, read the Ramsey Resident, read postcards that come in the mail, check the <br />City website and the City Face book pages. Commissioner Backous also suggested having Park <br />and Recreation Commission updates on QCTV just like what the City Council update is. <br />Chairperson Shryock commented that discussion has been happening with QCTV but the time is <br />not appropriate yet. Parks Supervisor Riverblood feels the advertising needs to be hit hard. <br />Possibly us of sandwich boards and he also mentioned Pact Charter School has agreed to send <br />out messages to all their subscribers. <br /> <br />Environmental Expo: Parks Supervisor Riverblood asked the Commissioners to forward their <br />thoughts to the Environmental Coordinator, Chris Anderson on how they felt the Environmental <br />Expo went this year. Commissioner Olsen said she had a lot of requests for park trail maps and <br />that it should be considered to get those up to date and available again. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor responded they are available on our website and an interactive computer <br />mapping system of aerial photography will be available soon. <br /> <br />Boy Scout Centennial, Time Capsule and volunteer project May15th - Elmcrest Park <br /> <br />Update on Volunteer day at Forest Hideaways, Shawn Acres and Trott Brook Cemetery and <br />Central Park on May 22nd. <br /> <br />Park Supervisor Riverblood announced that July 15th will be the first day with five growers <br />represented at Rhinestone Commons Park with the Grand Opening on August 5th of the farmers <br />market with Ramsey Foundation having secured the Big Walter Smith band to perform. <br /> <br />Minnesota Arts Board grant - have not heard anything yet. <br /> <br />Confirmation of Outdoor Meeting schedule. June with City Council at Central Park, July <br />Riverdale Park, August Community Garden, September Meandering Commons/Amphitheater. <br /> <br />August 19th the Mayors Town Hall meeting will be at the Community Garden site. <br /> <br />Elmcrest Park Update: Commissioner Backous attended the May 11th City Council Work <br />Session with Bill Casey, President of Northern Lights Soccer. Bill Casey presented the Council <br />with a brochure which Commissioner Backous did not have available with him but would like <br />this added to the next agenda so he can present the brochure in the actual agenda packet. <br />Commissioner Backous stated this was very well received by the City Council and they asked <br />Mr. Casey to come back with more creative ideas on how funds can be raised for the building. <br /> <br />Commissioner Backous wanted to announce the 25 year anniversary celebration for Northern <br />Lights Soccer at Central Park. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Shryock, seconded by Commissioner Olsen to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/May 13,2010 <br />Page 4 of5 <br />
