Councilmember Look asked if the Council needed a formal case in order to make this decision. <br />Mayor Ramsey stated he believed the City needed to finish the Ordinance first. <br />City Attorney Randall stated it troubled him that the Council wanted to make an appointment <br />that legally did not yet exist in the City. He indicated the Ordinance needed to be published and <br />that should be done before an enforcement officer was hired. <br />Councilmember Dehen -asked if they could hire someone conditionally upon the adoption of the <br />Ordinance. <br />City Attorney Randall responded the Council could do that. <br />Mayor Ramsey believed the Council should wait until the Ordinance was adopted. <br />7.05: Report from Personnel Committee <br />a. Consider Resolution #10-OS-XXX Accepting the Resignation. of the Human <br />Resources Manager/Assistant Director of Administrative Services and <br />Authorizing Staff to Fill the Position <br />Deputy City Administrator Nelson reviewed the staff report. <br />Mayor Ramsey stated the Council needed to accept the resignation and then decide what to do <br />next. <br />Councilmember Dehen thanked Ms. Reed Kone for all of her contributions over the years. <br />Motion by Councilmember Dehen, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to adopt Resolution <br />#10-OS-112 accepting the Resignation of the Human Resources Manager/Assistant Director of <br />Administrative Services. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Dehen, Jeffrey, Look, McGlone, <br />and Wise. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br />Discussion Regarding Filling the Position: <br />Councilmember Look stated he was interested in trying to determine if there was assistance in <br />helping fill this position for the next couple of years due to the budget restraints. He understood <br />the stress this put on the staff. <br />Mayor Ramsey stated he was not willing to look at filling the Human Resources Manager <br />position at this point, but he believed they should look at somebody to at least partially fill the <br />Economic Developers position. <br />City Council /May 11, 2010 <br />Page 8 of 11 <br />
