Absent: Board Member Hassett. <br />APPROVAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY BOARD MINUTES <br />Motion by Board Member Freeburg and seconded by Board Member Riley-Daniels to approve <br />the regular meeting minutes dated Apri15, 2010 as submitted. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Max, Board Members Riley-Daniels, Freeburg, <br />Enstrom, Stodola and Bentz. Voting No: None. Absent: Board Member Hassett. <br />POLICY BOARD BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Environmental Expo & Tree Sale Review <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson presented the staff report. <br />Board Member Freeburg suggested that there should maybe just be one presentation and invite a <br />keynote speaker that would really draw people in. <br />Chairperson Max suggested that the speaker be confirmed by the ls` of the year so that there <br />could be plenty of promotion. <br />Board Member Bentz suggested not waiting and start looking for a potential speaker for next <br />year now. <br />Chairperson Max thought the layout of the event was great. <br />Board Member Freeburg stated that having food at the event is huge. The aromas of food will <br />stick in people's minds and they'll likely remember that next year. <br />Board Member Enstrom agreed and stated that whether that's a break even endeavor, an expense <br />or a revenue generator, the food is critical to any type of event. <br />Board Member Riley-Daniels suggested that each exhibitor get a free bottle of water. <br />Board Member Stodola suggested that maybe each exhibitor could receive a free, reusable water <br />bottle container and possibly partner with Culligan or some other company to bring over a 5- <br />gallon water jug for the exhibitors. <br />Board Member Freeburg stated that there were a lot of people that stopped by the EPB booth that <br />had real concerns about invasive species or other environmental concerns. He also stated that <br />they handed out a number of Environmental Coordinator Anderson's business cards and heard a <br />lot of people comment that they didn't know that they could contact the city with these types of <br />questions and/or concerns. <br />Environmental Policy Board /May 3, 2010 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />
