Board Member Enstrom stated that he thought it went very well. It wasn't overwhelming with
people, but that's actually a positive because it allowed the EPB, as well as other exhibitors, to
engage in meaningful one on one conversations with individuals and couples and allowed them
the time to really address questions and concerns.
Board Member Freeburg stated that name tags for exhibitors are critical.
Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that he likely will be getting T-shirts next year for
the Board so that it is more obvious to the public and the other exhibitors who to talk to with
questions/directions.
Chairperson Max inquired how the tree sale went.
Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that the feedback he'd received thus far from the
vendors was that it went very well. One of them had to run back to their shop to grab more trees
by mid morning. Another had informed him that they did 25% better than they did in 2009.
Board Member Riley-Daniels suggested maybe putting the winning drawing from the coloring
contest on the T-shirts that Environmental Coordinator Anderson was talking about ordering.
That would maybe give even more incentive for the students to participate in the event.
Board Member Riley-Daniels asked about conducting a survey of exhibitors.
Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that he intended to use an online survey such as
survey monkey to solicit feedback from the exhibitors.
Board Member Freeburg left the meeting at 7:1 Opm.
Board Member Riley-Daniels suggested having a hard copy of a survey distributed during the
event next year so that everything was very fresh in their minds.
Chairperson Max suggested that all those surveys could then be entered into a drawing for a tree
at the conclusion of the event.
Board Member Enstrom stated that it would be nice for the Board to have something that could
be distributed to the public to promote the water conservation toolbox and the invasive species
webpage that they've been working on.
Chairperson Max stated that he'd like the Board to discuss their booth much earlier next year so
that they can take more ownership of their booth and put the necessary time into preparing their
exhibits.
Chairperson Max asked about possible using the Mississippi River Conference Room next year
for the EPB booth which would provide much more space to display pictures, maps and whatnot.
Plus, they could have a PowerPoint show cycling through as well.
Environmental Policy Board /May 3, 2010
