CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY' <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, in the <br />Alexander Ramsey Room, Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, <br />Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: Mayor Bob Ramsey <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Councilmember Jeff Wise <br />Members Absent: Councilmember David Elvig <br />Also Present: City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br />City Engineer Tim Himmer <br />Assistant City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Parks Supervisor Mark Riverblood <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Ramsey called the Council work session to order at 6:02 p.m. <br />TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />1) Presentation by Ramsey Rotary regarding their Memorial Project <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that the Ramsey Rotary has been working on a memorial <br />project and Marty Fischer and Bonnie Thompson, representing the Ramsey Rotary, are <br />prepared to present their plans to the Council. Mr. Ulrich felt it was timely as it is <br />proposed to be in the East Meandering Commons Park. <br />Ms. Thompson presented the history of the memorial project and how it came about. <br />Mr. Fisher described the project - about an 18-foot statue with a 52-inch base -and that it <br />is a memorial and a tribute. He presented a map of East Meandering Commons Park and <br />showed the proposed site for the statue. He talked about the pavers and the fact that there <br />will be three sizes for sale. He talked about the star where ten different companies could <br />donate and be a part of that -the star would be approximately 12 feet in diameter . He <br />stated they have a timeline and budget they believe to be fairly accurate. A project <br />manager has been working with the club on the schedule and they see it as a two-year <br />City Council Work Session -March 30, 2010 <br />Page 1 of 7 <br />
