<br />INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARATION OF PROPOSALS <br /> <br />1. Request for Proposals <br /> <br />In this Request for Proposals (RFP), the City of Ramsey is soliciting proposals for the following <br />transit services: Ramsey - Minneapolis Transit Service (5th Street garage) <br /> <br />· Express coach transit service to and from the Ramsey Municipal Parking Facility to <br />downtown Minneapolis operated with commuter type coaches <br /> <br />· Four express AM peak trips to downtown Minneapolis <br /> <br />· Four express PM trips from downtown Minneapolis to the Ramsey Municipal Parking <br />Facility <br /> <br />The specific services requested in this RFP and to be provided by the contractor are detailed in <br />Attachment to the Proposal Instructions: Scope of Work. The Scope of Work includes, without <br />limitation, detailed information on the following matters: <br /> <br />· route descriptions, schedules, service time, and miles <br />· a description of passenger fares for the service <br />· vehicle requirements <br />· personnel requirements <br />· administrative requirements <br />· contractor facility requirements <br />· driver training requirements <br />· adjustments of contract amount <br />· payment provisions <br />· reporting requirements <br />· the City's role and responsibilities with respect to the transit service. <br /> <br />The Contractor will need to provide certain vehicles in order to carry out the transit services to <br />be provided. The contractor shall be responsible for all operation, maintenance, and housing of <br />such vehicles. <br /> <br />A description of the vehicles to be provided by the Council along with a description of the <br />contractor's responsibility for use and maintenance of the vehicles will be found in the Scope of <br />Work. Further details regarding the vehicles including special features, mileage, and major <br />repair history are to be made available upon request from the RFP Administrator. The vehicles <br />provided by the contractor may only be used in providing the contracted services and not for any <br />other services provided by the contractor, including any charter services. <br /> <br />The Contractor will be responsible for all other operating facilities and equipment in connection <br />with the transit services. <br /> <br />Instructions for Preparation of Proposals <br />Page I <br />
