Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION # <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING APPOINTMENT OF GALLAGHER BENEFIT <br />SERVICES, INC. AS AGENTBROKER OF RECORD FOR HEALTH AND DENTAL <br />INSURANCE PROGRAMS AND COBRA ADMINISTRATION ANll TERMINATE <br />AGENT OF RECORD RELATIONSHIP WITH CBIZ. <br />WHEREAS, an AgentlBroker of Record is responsible for advising and assisting the <br />City in encouraging consumerism and designing health programs; advising and assisting the City <br />in controlling health care costs and evaluating plan design options; advising the City on potential <br />gaps or overlaps in coverage's, and negotiating with carriers on the City's behalf, and <br />WHEREAS, staff was authorized to issue an RFP for Agent/Broker of Record services <br />for health and dental insurance and COBRA administration, and <br />WHEREAS, The RFP was conducted and three brokers were interviewed, and <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends appointing Gallagher Benefit Service, Inc. as the City's <br />new Agent/Broker of Record and terminating the AgentlBroker of Record relationship with <br />CBIZ effective July 1, 2010. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT TIIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br />Confirms the recommendation of staff to appoint Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc. as the City's <br />new Agent/Broker of Record. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member, <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 22nd day of June, 2010. <br />
