CITY OF RAMSEY POSITION ANALYSIS <br />POSITION TITLE: <br />DEPARTMENT: <br />POSITION TITLE OF <br />IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR: <br />FLSA STATUS: <br />Human Resources Technician <br />Administrative Services <br />Human Resources Manager <br />Non-Exempt <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: <br />This position works under the general guidance and direction of the Human Resources Manager, <br />to perform a variety of responsible and confidential administrative support functions for Human <br />Resources, including staff recruitment and selection and maintaining personnel records. <br />Performs clerical tasks associated with the administration of the City's benefits program and <br />provides general assistance to employees on human resources related issues. <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIF,S: <br />• Assists with collecting, protecting and presenting confidential information related to <br />management's positions regarding labor negotiations. <br />• Assists with the selection process for all positions from placing initial job postings and <br />advertisements, to scheduling interviews/testing, preparing appointment letters, payroll <br />action forms, sending out follow up correspondence to those applicants not selected and <br />maintaining databases to track seasonal help. <br />• Schedules any required pre-employment physicals and/or drug testing for staff and <br />coordinates associated investigations, such as driver's license checks, reference checks, <br />etc. when applicable for position. <br />• Maintains records including accurate personnel files, pay records and job descriptions. <br />• Assists with processing and scoring applications, setting up interviews, conducting <br />necessary testing and verifying background information for selected applicants. <br />• Conducts new employee orientations to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and <br />submits appropriate documentation to payroll for processing. <br />
