• Assists with the preparation and distribution, of information to all employees during the <br />annual benefits enrollment process and answers routine inquiries regarding benefit <br />options. <br />• Proofreads personnel correspondence, policies and other forms for accuracy and makes <br />recommendations for clarity and correctness. <br />• Tracks probationary periods, anniversary dates, pay increases, training seminars, FMI~A <br />leaves and other pertinent dates. <br />• Receives and records employment applications. <br />• Assists with all clerical responsibilities, including, but not limited to: typing general <br />correspondence, copying, filing, faxing, and data entry. <br />• Provides overflow services to Administrative Services support team, including, but not <br />limited to performing back-up duties for the receptionist. <br />• Performs other related functions as apparent or delegated. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES <br />• Knowledge of laws, principles, practices and policies of personnel administration. <br />• Knowledge of the principles and practices of position classification, compensation, labor <br />relations, selection, placement, and record keeping. <br />• Knowledge of data privacy as it relates to City and personnel data; handles confidential <br />information appropriately. <br />• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. <br />• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all City staff and the <br />general public. <br />• Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize word processing, spreadsheet, database and <br />personnel related software applications. <br />• Ability to interpret and explain human resources policies and procedures. <br />• Ability to handle inquiries from the general public in a friendly and courteous manner. <br />• Ability to organize, coordinate various assignments and establish priorities to effectively <br />work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Two (2) years of post high school education in Industrial Relations, Human Resources or a <br />related field and two (2) years of work experience involving recruitment, selection, <br />compensation, grievance resolution, labor relations and training OR a combination of education <br />and experience.
