(3) Service bay identification signs. Service bay identification signs providing direction or instruction to persons using the facility and containing no advertising material of any kind shall be subject to the following: a. All service bay identification signs shall be wall signs. b. There shall not be more than one service bay identification sign for each service bay located on the pazcel. c. A service bay identification sign may be located on the outermost wall of any principal building adjacent to a service bay entrance. d. A service bay identification sign shall not project higher than the parapet line of the wall to which the sign is [o be affixed. (4) Fuel pump island identification sign. Fuel pump island identification signs indicating the type of service offered; the price of gasoline; and other relevant information, within reason, pertaining to the facility; or direction to persons using the facility shall be subject to the following: The gross surface azea of a service island identification sign shall be counted against the maximum allowable sign azea for the subject pazcel. (5) Menu board. Menu boazd for drive-up or walk-up lane of a drive-in business aze allowed up to a maximum of 50 squaze feet of total signage. Menu boazds are allowed a message on one side only and cannot contain an advertising message. - (6) Directional signs. a. Directional or instructional signs aze permitted in accordance with section 117-463(1). b. Pazking lo[ directional signs designating.pazking area entrances and exits aze limited to one sign for each entrance and/or exit and shall not exceed four square feet for each exposed face. Parking ]ot directional signs shall not project higher than five feet in height, as measured from the established grade of the pazking azea to which such signs are accessory. c. Pazking lot instructional signs designating the conditions of use or identifying pazking azeas shall not exceed eight squaze feet and shall not project higher than ten feet in height for wall signs and seven feet in height for ground signs, as measured from the established grade of the pazking area to which such signs aze accessory. d. Window signs aze restricted to 30 percent of the area of the window in which the sign is to be displayed. (b) Shopping center signs. In accordance with section 117-54, the developer shall submit a sign plan for approval, drawn to scale with elevations, at the time application is made for site plan approval. The sign plan shall include but not be limited to the following information: number of signs, type of signs, sign sizes, Type of construction materials, sign messages, and proposed sign locations. It is the intent and effect of Ordinance #10- to amend Ramsey City Code Chapter 117 (Zoning and Subdivision of Land) Article II (Zoning) Division 8 (Signs) to require a temporary sign permit for temporary signs greater than fifteen (15) squaze feet in Business and Employment Districts and to allow for a second permanent ground sign of 50% the size of the first permanent ground sign on pazcels with two road frontages.
