sale on May 1, the Spring Recycling Event on May 8 and a rain barrel and compost bin sale on <br />May 15: The 22"d of May was first open Saturday of the month for the planting to be done. <br />Several Board Members expressed an interest and willingness to assist with completing the <br />edible landscapes plantings at the community garden site. They asked Environmental <br />Coordinator Anderson to inform them of the day/time that the remainder of the work would be <br />completed and those that wanted to and were available would assist. <br />BOARD/STAFF INPUT <br />Board Member Hassett asked if anyone knew what aqua pellets were, he has heard some <br />commercials promoting their use to clear up lakes. <br />Board Member Enstrom stated that they were an aquacide used to kill aquatic vegetation <br />Board Member Enstrom informed the Board of a flag retirement ceremony that he will be <br />hosting at his property on Flag Day. He agreed to email out the information to the Board in case <br />they wanted to attend. <br />Chairperson Max stated that he was approached by a member of the community gazden project <br />about a memorial for one of the founding members who has since passed away. He recalled the <br />last time this type of request came up, there was quite a bit of discussion and that he believed this <br />request should be addressed by the City Council and not the Board. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson informed the Board that the July meeting needs to be <br />either rescheduled or cancelled because it falls on July 5 and city offices will be closed that day <br />in observance of Independence Day. The consensus of the Board was to reschedule the meeting <br />for July 12. The Board also requested a joint meeting with the Park and Recreation Commission <br />at their August 12 meeting. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson reminded the Board about the upcoming training <br />opportunity regarding Emerald Ash Borer Community Preparedness Plans that is scheduled for <br />June 9 in St. Cloud. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Board Member Riley-Daniels and seconded by Board Member Stodola to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. <br />Respe~o 11Ry submitted, <br />G'~ir' <br />is And rson <br />Environmental Coordinator <br />Environmental Policy Board /June 7, 2010 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br />
