~S•Ib <br />Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #10-07-XXX <br />A RESOLUTION RENAMING A PUBLIC PARK WITHIN THE CENTER OF RAMSEY <br />WHEREAS, access to parks, natural resources, open space and recreation areas, are <br />essential to the quality of life, health and welfare of the city of Ramsey; and <br />WHEREAS, municipal park systems play anever-important role in providing a diversity <br />of needed recreational opportunities to individuals and families; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey's COR, with its parks, trails and public spaces, provide <br />the connected and vibrant fabric that are also key to continued economic vitality; and <br />WHEREAS, one of these parks, with amphitheater, has been completed within the COR <br />and deserves a name befitting its value to the community; and <br />WHEREAS, this park, with its amenities and centralized location, will be an attraction <br />and destination. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />1) That, the City of Ramsey hereby renames the park areas on either side of the <br />Rhinestone Street Bridge from being formerly known as `East Meandering <br />Commons' to: The Draw. <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 27~' day of July 2010. <br />ATTEST: <br />Mayor <br />City Clerk <br />
