ORDINANCE #10-XX CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN AMEMDMENT TO CHAPTER 54 OF THE RAMSEY CITY CODE, WHICH CHAPTER IS KNOWN AS THE TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES CHAPTER OF THE RAMSEY, MINNESOTA, CITY CODE. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 54-2 (USE OF ROLLER DEVICES IN TOWN CENTER DISTRICT). The City of Ramsey ordains: SECTION 1. AUTHORITY This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the City Charter of the City of Ramsey. SECTION 2. AMENDMENTS Section 54-2 (a) is hereby amended to read as follows: Purpose and intent. The purpose of this section is to protect public health and safeTy stemming from the use of roller devices in the pedestrian-oriented Town Center District. The city council finds that operation of such roller devices in areas of Town Center creates unnecessary potential danger to either the user of such device or the general public; and that the use of such device may cause destruction of property in the areas described as: west of Ramsey Boulevard, south of Bunker Lake Boulevard, east of Armstrong Boulevard, and north of the Burlington Northern-Saute Fe Railroad tracks. SECTION 3. SUMMARY The following is the official summary of Ordinance #10-XX which has been approved by the City Council of the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance. It is the intent and effect of Ordinance #10-XX to amend Ramsey, Minnesota City Code Section 54-2 (Use of roller devices in Town Center District) to: • Expand the area for restricted use of roller devices from south of Sunwood Drive to south of Bunker Lake Boulevard. SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE The effective date of this Ordinance is thirty (30) days after its passage and publication, subject to City Charter Section 5.07.
