<br />Case # '1. 05" <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION OF A MEMORIAL PARK IN THE DRAW <br />By: Jessica L. Hendricks, Management Intern <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Ramsey Rotary has expressed interest in the creation of a memorial park in the park known <br />as The Draw. The idea that the Rotary has presented is a small memorial area with a statue in <br />the middle. The statue would be surrounded by brick pavers, available for purchase, and would <br />also contain benches surrounding the statue. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />The Ramsey Rotary has proposed to lead the project of creating a memorial park in The Draw. <br />The memorial park area would be located on the north side of the park. <br /> <br />The City currently has a policy in place for accepting memorials in the park system; the brick <br />pavers proposed would be covered under the commemorative plaque honoring a person, <br />organization, or event. A copy ofthe policy has been attached for Council review. <br /> <br />Funding Source: <br /> <br />The creation of the memorial park will be funded by the sale of brick memorial pavers.
