B. Coordinate Finance personnel. <br />1.) Assign tasks or areas of responsibility to employees. <br />2.) Monitor performance to assure the completion of tasks on schedule. <br />3.) Provide input to Finance Officer regarding employee evaluations for Finance <br />personnel. <br />4.) Maintain and modify, as needed, department policies and workflows. <br />C. Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports. Coordinate work by <br />staff and auditors in the preparation of the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial <br />Report (CAFR), the capital improvement program (CIP), and the fixed asset records. <br />D. Administer the City's computerized financial accounting system. <br />1.) Control access by assigning user log -ons and passwords. <br />2.) Establish a system back-up schedule and oversee the back-up process. <br />3.) Install application and/or application upgrades as required. <br />4.) Develop spreadsheet and/or datbase applications as necessary. <br />5.) Coordinate computer system conversions as required. <br />E. Conduct on-the-job training. <br />F. Assist the Finance Officer with budget preparation. <br />G. Perform other duties as assigned (within the ability and resources of the Accounting <br />Supervisor) at the verbal or written direction of the Finance Officer and/or the City <br />Administrator. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br />Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as defined by GASB. <br />Knowledge of governmental accounting procedures as defined by the GFOA. <br />Knowledge of computerized accounting systems and the ability to instruct subordinates in <br />the use of the software. <br />Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and database software and the ability to train <br />subordinates in their use. <br />Ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines. <br />Ability to assign tasks or areas of responsibility to employees and manage the workloads <br />to assure the completion of tasks on schedule. <br />Ability to do detailed financial analysis. <br />Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. <br />ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS: <br />The essential elements of this position are as follows: <br />A. 1-5 D.1-5 <br />B. 1-4 E. <br />C.
