Mayor Ramsey said the pedestrian overpass over Highway 10 will go from the trail to the river. <br />Public Works Director Olson said they hope to work on future grants as well. <br />Anoka Director of Public Services/City Engineer Greg Lee also shared that Anoka is beginning <br />to work through the Kings Island project and that the east and west ends have a feasibility report <br />rough draft totaling $510,000 for a trail, however, while some work can be done in-house it will <br />likely still need $400,000 for grants of $380,000 and $156,000 for Kings Island, therefore <br />leaving $240,000. He added that Anoka is applying for partnership grants to excavate channels <br />for navigability as well. <br />Mayor Ramsey suggested looking for other opportunities for more grant money. <br />Councilmember McGlone. suggested asking the Metropolitan Council for help and there is a need <br />for a regional park north. <br />Councilmember Weaver said if the channel is cleaned out and navigable off Highway 10 then <br />this would be a great redevelopment site. <br />Mayor Ramsey asked how much could be combined. Public Works Director Olson said the total <br />would be $740,000 and since we had $120,000 there would be $12,000 to cleaz. <br />Anoka Director of Public Services/City Engineer Lee said they could still do this project in- <br />house, adding Anoka is looking for $240,000 in funds while Ramsey is looking for $120,000. <br />Mayor Ramsey asked if the project could be done in sections. Anoka Director of Public <br />Services/City Engineer Lee said the grant requirements include a 10-foot wide trail, bridges, etc. <br />from one side of the project to the other so it would have to be done in one section. He added <br />that they could look at other routes to try to save money. <br />Councilmember Weaver asked if the grants aze separate. Anoka Director of Public Services/City <br />Engineer Lee said the grants aze separate. <br />Councilmember Weaver suggested adding bridges amenities to the project. <br />6) General Development <br />Ramsey City Administrator Ulrich shared that their current Town Center has a new name: The <br />COR. He said the name was derived from the City of Ramsey as well as being the center of the <br />City that they hope will result in bigger and better projects. He said the City took over 150 acres <br />of the tota1400 acres, adding there is a remaining 165 acres for future development. He said the <br />primary features are the interchange at Armstrong Boulevazd, rail station, lazger water feature, <br />and a completed 300-seat amphitheater done with Metropolitan Council grant funds.
