CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Topic Report: Discussion of Inclusion of <br />Candidates for Office in Happy Days <br />Business Expo <br />By: Tim Gladhill, Associate Planner <br />Background: <br />As part of budget discussions, the City Council has requested that the inclusion of candidates for <br />office be allowed to participate at cost in the Business Expo for Happy Days. The registration fee <br />is now $30 per booth. If direction is to allow candidates to be included, this should be opened up <br />to all offices that represent the City of Ramsey. <br />The request has been forwarded to the Happy Days Committee via email. At the time of printing <br />of this case, a recommendation was not available from the Committee, although the initial <br />direction from the Committee was not to include candidates as part of the Business Expo. Staff <br />would want to ensure that the entrance to the main events of Happy Days is not dominated by <br />candidates and would ensure that all candidates are fairly placed as any participant in the <br />Business Expo would be. Participants will be made aware of their booth assignments prior to the <br />event and will not be allowed to change on the day of the event. The Committee has been <br />informed of the meeting date.
