I
I
I
I
I
I

I
I
I

I i

I
I
I
I

Current City Council direction as discussed during the May 2002 public Works
meeting did not define the City's position on cost participation for concrete curb
and gutter. Therefore, the City may consider paying up to 50% of the cost of
concrete curb and gutter. This option is described in Option lB in this report.

With the un-paved gravel rural ditch section option, the City pays none of the
street cost. The gravel option would consist of constructin9 the streets to' rural
sections with a 4 inch 9ravel surface. In addition, residents will be responsible
for the ongoing maintenance of gravel streets, which includes replacement of
gravel as stated in the discussion of the dirt street and maintenance program.
Residents will also be responsible for dust control and grading as part of the
scheduled maintenance. The annual cost of the scheduled maintenance is
estimated to be approximately $70 per 100 foot lot per year

STORM DRAINAGE

Since this project is within an existing subdivision with existing streets, the cost of
the storm drainage will be paid from the City's Storm Water UtilitY Fund.

WATER & SEWER

The cost of the water and sanitary sewer will be.paid with hookup fees at the time
of hookup. The City's current schedule of these hookup fees per hookup are ·

Water:

$ 562 't'runk Connection Charge
$ 3,118 Lateral Benefit Charge
$ 3,680 Total

Sewer!

$1,252 Trunk Connection Charge
$ 6,939 Lateral Benefit Charge
$ 8,191 Total

Total Water & Sewer Hookup Charges: $ 11,871

*Residence will be subject to SAC and WAC charges at time of hookup.

SHARED BENEFITS

This report will also discuss-the shared benefit or relationship of these
improvements with two adjacent project areas, which are the subject .of separate
feasibility reports. The commonality of the proposed improvements in all three
project areas create the desire to schedule all three projects for construction at
the same time period, possibly resulting in reduced construction cost.

Page 2
G:\Municip aI"C, RAMS EY\633\RA6;~3FS R,doc

-38,5r5
