Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: l f311101 ijt0 colm CONSIDER A RESOLUTION ELIMINATING THE ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER POSITION WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is faced with substantial budget constraints; and WHEREAS, in order to meet these constraints, staff has found it necessary to recommend that the Assistant City Engineer position be eliminated and to lay off Mr. Steve Jankowski, which returns approximately $100,449 back into the budget; and WHEREAS, Mr. Steve Jankowski, the City's Assistant City Engineer, last day of employment with the City will be December 17,1010; and WHEREAS, applicable severance payments will be paid from the Public Works Department's Liability Fund and any unemployment benefits will be paid from the Insurance Fund. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: Eliminate the Assistant City Engineer position and lay off Mr. Steve Jankowski effective December 17, 2010. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 12 day of October, 2010.
