C0 � CASE # 5 10 REPORT FROM PUBLIC WORKS By: Public Works Staff The Public Works Committee met on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 and discussed the following five cases: CITIZEN INPUT There was none. APPROVE AGENDA Motion to approve the agenda as submitted. Case #1: Request for Mutual Aid Agreement from the City of Elk River Background: Staff reviewed that the City received a request from the City of Elk River to enter into a Mutual Aid Agreement for assistance during a storm event or other disaster. Staff presented the Committee with a copy of this request and the Mutual Aid Agreement. Motion to recommend to City Council that the City of Ramsey enter into a Mutual Aid Agreement with the City of Elk River for the purpose of supplying public works personnel and equipment in the event of a storm or other disaster. Action: Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. Case #2:. Update for Well House #3 Exterior Background: The Committee discussed the cost to switch over from propane to natural gas, the cost of vinyl and prefinished cement board siding versus painting, and the cost of security. Motion to recommend that the City Council authorize staff to paint the building's exterior utilizing Public Works personnel, removing the propane system, adding a natural gas supply, upgrade heaters generator, and adding security measures to the site. Action: This item was approved by the City Council on September 28, 2010. It had to be expedited due to the time of year and potential frost charges.
