C0 � CASE # 5 10 <br />REPORT FROM PUBLIC WORKS <br />By: Public Works Staff <br />The Public Works Committee met on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 and discussed the following <br />five cases: <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Motion to approve the agenda as submitted. <br />Case #1: Request for Mutual Aid Agreement from the City of Elk River <br />Background: <br />Staff reviewed that the City received a request from the City of Elk River to enter into a Mutual <br />Aid Agreement for assistance during a storm event or other disaster. Staff presented the <br />Committee with a copy of this request and the Mutual Aid Agreement. <br />Motion to recommend to City Council that the City of Ramsey enter into a Mutual Aid <br />Agreement with the City of Elk River for the purpose of supplying public works personnel and <br />equipment in the event of a storm or other disaster. <br />Action: <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br />Case #2:. Update for Well House #3 Exterior <br />Background: <br />The Committee discussed the cost to switch over from propane to natural gas, the cost of vinyl <br />and prefinished cement board siding versus painting, and the cost of security. <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council authorize staff to paint the building's exterior <br />utilizing Public Works personnel, removing the propane system, adding a natural gas supply, <br />upgrade heaters generator, and adding security measures to the site. <br />Action: <br />This item was approved by the City Council on September 28, 2010. It had to be expedited due <br />to the time of year and potential frost charges. <br />
