Case #3: Consider Request for the Installation of Street Lights at Various Locations <br />within the City <br />Background: <br />The Committee discussed the impact of the lights to the residential homes in the area and notice <br />to the residents within 200 feet in all three areas. <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council direct staff to install priority streetlights at the <br />intersection of Ute Street and County Road 27, and 152 Avenue and Erkium Street (TH 47 <br />frontage road) to be funded by the streetlight utility fund, and to install a streetlight near the <br />skateboard park located within Alpine Park to be funded by the park general fund and /or <br />miscellaneous professional services account. <br />Action: <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br />Case 94: Consider Installation of Pedestrian Ramps <br />Background: <br />Staff reviewed that there are locations in the City were the approach ramps between the street <br />and sidewalk/trail system do not meet current ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards. <br />Motion to recommend to the City Council that a portion of the fund balance for the Street <br />Maintenance Program be authorized for the installation of deficient or missing pedestrian ramps <br />in the amount of $45,000. <br />Action: <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br />Case #5 MN/DOT Response to Sign Request at 16261 St Francis Blvd Access <br />Background: <br />Staff reviewed that MnDot recommended that the property owner trim the vegetation to mitigate <br />the problem to some extent and that installing a sign does not improve safety. <br />The Committee discussed the site line issue and alternatives. <br />It was the Committee's consensus to give this to the resident with respect to the site line. <br />Action: <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br />
