Public Works Street Supervisor Reimer reviewed the staff report. <br />It was the Committee's consensus to enter into the Mutual Aid Agreement. <br />Motion by Mayor Ramsey, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to recommend to City <br />Council that the City of Ramsey enter into a Mutual Aid Agreement with the City of Elk River <br />for the purpose of supplying public works personnel and equipment in the event of a storm or <br />other disaster. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig and Mayor Ramsey, Councilmember McGlone. <br />Voting No: None. <br />Case #2: Update for Well House #3 Exterior <br />Utilities Supervisor Nelson reviewed the staff report. <br />The Committee discussed the cost to switch over from propane to natural gas, the cost of vinyl <br />and prefinished cement board siding versus painting, and the cost of security. <br />Motion by Mayor Ramsey, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to recommend that the City <br />Council authorize staff to paint the building's exterior utilizing Public Works personnel, <br />removing the propane system, adding a natural gas supply, upgrade heaters generator, and adding <br />security measures to the site. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig, Mayor Ramsey, and Councilmember McGlone. <br />Voting No: None. <br />Case #3: Consider Request for the Installation of Street Lights at Various Locations <br />Within the City <br />City Engineer Himmer reviewed the staff report. <br />The Committee discussed the impact of the lights to the residential homes in the area and notice <br />to the residents within 200 feet in all three areas. <br />Motion by Mayor Ramsey, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to recommend that the City <br />Council direct staff to install priority streetlights at the intersection of Ute Street and County <br />Road 27, and 152nd Avenue and Erkium Street (TH 47 frontage road) to be funded by the <br />streetlight utility fund, and to install a streetlight near the skateboard park located within Alpine <br />Park to be funded by the park general fund and/or miscellaneous professional services account. <br />Further Discussion: Mayor Ramsey recommended a system for burned out streetlights. <br />Councilmember McGlone recommended a link be put on the website for lights out, vandalism, <br />etc. <br />Public Works Committee / September 21, 2010 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />
