C]tAPTER 9 RESII)ENTIAL ZONING DISTRICT A~LENDM_E~TS By: Principal Planner Patrick Trudgeon Background: On December 18, 2001, the Ramsey City Council adopted the new Comprehensive Plan As a result, the City has been updating Chapter 9 (Zoning and Subdivision Chapter) to be consistent with new Comprehensive Plan. A Chapter 9 subcommittee, comprised of the City Council and Planning Commission, has been meeting since February 2002 reviewing language changes. At this time, City staff' is bringing forward the residential and planned unit development zoning district regulations for consideration. Along with text amendments, a new residential zoning map will need to be considered. The following items are enclosed: a) c) d) e) Memo from Loren Gordon, Hoisington Koegler, dated May 23, 2002 Proposed Residential Zoning District Map Draft Planning Commission M_inutes dated May 2, 2002 Letter Received from Ellen Stanley dated May 1, 2002 Proposed Ordinance Observations: The Planning Commission held a public hearing on May 2, 2002 and the comments received are contained in the attached minutes. The City's consultant fi-om Hoisington Koegler Group, Inc, Loren Gordon, will be present to review the proposed residential zoning districts. Recommendations: City Staff recommends introduction of the proposed ordinance. Council Action: Motion to introduce an ordinance to amend the text and zoning map for the low, medium, and high density residential districts, and the text for the Planned Unit Development district contained in Chapter 9 (Zoning and Subdivision of Land) of CityCode.
