COMMISSION BUSINESS
Case #1: Consider Need for Regular Meeting(s) in October and December 2010
Parks Supervisor Riverblood asked that due to the agenda's being light for many of the meetings
this year that the Commission consider cancelling the meetings for October and December. He
asked that they recognize that then the November agenda would have a significant amount of
business to do one of which would be the parks capital improvement program for City Council
consideration and possible adoption for year 2011 and then the remaining 5 -year CIP.
Park Supervisor Riverblood stated that Case #2 on this agenda, Informational Update on
Proposed Christian Legacy Academy Development more realistically can be acted upon in
November.
Another item is the State Health Impact Program which could be taken up as an action item
Also, acting on modifying the park dedication fee structure for the higher density units.
Motion by Commissioner Olsen, seconded by Commissioner Bennett, that the October meeting
be if needed and December meeting be cancelled for 2010.
Amended by Commissioner Olsen that October and December as needed for 2010.
Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Shryock, Vice Chair Backous, Commissioners Barr,
Bennett, Fyten, and Olsen. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner LaMere.
Case #2 Informational Update and Proposed Christian Legacy Academy Development
Parks Supervisor stated the purpose of this case is to provide information on a proposed new plat
and facility.
He stated that the Academy has asked the City for consideration on some shared use of their
fields in recognition of a possible reduction in park dedication fees owed.
There is no action needed at this time, but he would like the Commission to look at the large site
plan, and understand that we would still want to maintain the greenway from the COR area up to
trails to Lake Itasca.
Chairperson Shryock commented that this is a great opportunity for the City to partner with
somebody like this too.
COMMISSION /STAFF INPUT
Update on Happy Days, Amphitheatre Concert, Teen Dance, Pancake Breakfast, Farmers
Market.
Park and Recreation Commission /September 9, 2010
Page 2 of 3
