Jankowski, City Engineer . <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On March 26, 2002, 'the City Council ratified the direction of the' Public Works <br />Committee to prepare a change order to Improvement Project 99-51 that would .change <br />the scope of the project to include right turn 'lanes on northbound CR 83 onto Alpine <br />Drive and on westbound Alpine Drive onto Variolite Street. At the Public Works <br />meeting the cost of adding a single right turn lane on Armstrong was estimated' to be <br />$30,000. The additional turn lane on Alpine to Variolite was suggested by the <br />Committee at the meeting and no cost estimate had been prepared at that time. Attached <br />is a proposed change order in the amount of $56,084.35 utilizing negotiated unit prices. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />It is staff's recommendation to enter into a change order to authorize Forest Lake <br />Contracting to construct right turn lanes at the Variolite and Armstrong intersections with <br />Alpine Drive. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Adopt resolution 02-05-XXX authorizing a change order to Forest Lake Contracting for <br />the addition of two right turn lanes on ImproVement Project 99-51. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />Public Works Director <br />Principal City Engineer <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />CC: 05/14/02 <br /> <br /> <br />
