-256- Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION # 02-11-xxxx RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RECRUITMENT OF A FULL-TIME PATROL OFFICER WHEREAS, due to the retirement of Police Chief David Gustafson and the appointment of Interim Police Chief Jim Way and the internal promotion for a vacant Sergeant position, a vacant position exists in the Police Department for a full-time Patrol Officer; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the recruitment of a Patrol Officer by advertising in multiple locations including newspapers, other municipalities, and agencies/institutions representing diverse populations; and WHEREAS, staffwill conduct the recruitment process and bring its recommendation to the Council for final approval. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the Persom~el Committee to recruit candidates for the position of full-time Patrol Officer. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the fotlbwing voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the I2t~, day of November 2002.
