PC CASE <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE HIRING OF PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER <br /> By: Patrick Leadens, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At their regular meeting on. August 13th 2002, the City Council authorized the recruitment <br />for a vacant Public Works Maintenance Worker position. The Position was posted <br />internally. As no applications were received, the position was advertised externally. <br />Fourty-four applications were received. A panel c. onsisting of the Public Works Director, <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor, Public Works Supervisor, Public Works Lead Person, and <br />Assistant City Administrator interviewed four candidates. BaSed on the panel's <br />recommendation, staff is recommending hiring Aaron Madsen for the position of Public <br />Works Maintenance Worker. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff is recommending Aaron Madsen for the position of full-time Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker at a starting wage of $15.03/hour plus benefits and will accrue <br />vacation per City policy.
