Voting <br />No: Councilmembers Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Case #8: <br /> <br />Request to Rezone Certain Property from B-1 Business and B-2 Business to <br />R-3 Urban Residential; Case of Oakwood Land Development, Inc. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik stated that Oakwood Land Development is requesting a <br />rezoning of property proposed to be platted as Sunflower Ridge from B-1 Business and B-2 <br />Business to R-3 Urban Residential. The rezoning will facilitate development of the subject <br />property with multiple family dwelling units not to exceed a density of units per acre. The seven <br />property is approximately 18.6 acres in size. The property is currently zoned a combination orB- <br />1 and B-2 Business. The 2001 Comprehensive Plan designates the property for development with <br />low-density residential uses. The City Council recently approved an amendment to the 2001 <br />Comprehensive Plan to reclassify the property for development with medium density residential <br />uses. Metropolitan Council approved the land use change from low to medium density residential <br />on April 11, 2002. The Applicant was requesting that the City now rezone the property to R-3 <br />Urban Residential in accordance with the approved Comprehensive Plan Amendment. The <br />Planning Commission, conducted a public hearing on May 2, 2002. There were no verbal or <br />written comments regarding the proposed rezoning. The Planning Commission recommended <br />approval of the rezoning. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to adopt Resolution #02-05-129 <br />adopting Findings of Fact # 0614 relating to a request from Oakwood Land Development to <br />rezone the proposed plat of Sunflower Ridge to R-3 Urban Residential. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Kurak, and Anderson. Voting <br />No: Councilmember Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to introduce an ordinance to <br />rezoned the proposed plat of Sunflower Ridge from B-1 and B-2 Business to R-3 Urban <br />Residential, based on the findings of fact. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Kurak, and Anderson. Voting <br />No: Councilmembers Hendriksen and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Case #12: <br /> <br />Request for Preliminary Plat Review of Evergreen Point; Case of Edina <br />Development <br /> <br />Principal Planner Trudgeon stated that Edina Development has submitted a preliminary plat for <br />Evergreen Point, a 11 O-unit townhome development on the northwest comer of Alpine Drive and <br />State Highway. #47. The property is in the process of being rezoned to R-3 Urban Residential to <br />allow for medium density residential development. The property is approximately 24.11 acres in <br />size.
