CASE <br /> <br />REPORT FROM PUBLIC WORKS <br />By: Public Works Staff <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee met on August 19, 2002 and discussed the following three <br />cases: <br /> <br />Case # 1 Consider Expenditure for 2002 Priority Street Lights <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the present time the City's priority street lighting system is comprised of lights at 146 <br />locations with an additional 29 locations remaining to be served. Staff has observed that <br />14 locations where lights at tee intersections are located on the opposite .side of the <br />intersection. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Ratify recommendation that staff review existing light placements and bring back any <br />suggestions on lights that should be moved due to safety concerns and authorize the <br />installation of 2002 street lights. <br /> <br />Case #2 <br /> <br />Update on Public Works Campus <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Staff has proposed two locations that are possible for a cul-de-sac at the Public Works <br />facility and recommends the location at the intersection of 142nd Avenue and Limonite <br />Street. It was discussed whether it would be beneficial to keep or sell the Alloy Recovery <br />property. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Ratify recommendation that staff begin necessary procedures to locate a cul-de-sac at the <br />intersection of Limonite Street NW and 142na Avenue NW and recommend that the City <br />retain the Alloy Recovery property for Public Works purposes. <br /> <br />-333- <br /> <br /> <br />
