-334- <br /> <br />Case # 3 Discuss Bituminous Pavement Saw and Seal <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The purpose of this case was to discuss the proactive approach: of cracksealing that occurs <br />on City streets and to discuss the cost effectiveness and the funding available for <br />implementing a saw and seal procedure. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to <br />recommend that the "saw and seal" process not be done on the roads proposed by staff <br />but direct staff to draft a policy that would give the City Engineer's the authority to <br />require the "saw and seal" procedure on new streets if they deem necessary contingent <br />upon staff having a conversation with the Crow County Engineer. <br /> <br />COMMITTEES/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Discussion of safety concerns at Alpine Drive and Ramsey Boulevard <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler discussed requests about safety concerns at <br />the intersection of Ramsey Boulevard and Alpine Drive. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Ratify recommendation of Council that staff request a warrant study from the county and <br />to schedule a neighborhood meeting. <br /> <br />Signalization of 167th Avenue NW and T.H. #47 <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />staff gave an update on the traffic analysis that was completed by MnDOT at the <br />intersection of 167th and TH #47 and Staff was directed to bring data back to future <br />Public Works Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief <br />Principal City Engineer <br /> <br />CC: 09/11/02 <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
