CASE #: ADOPT ORDINANCE VACATING CERTAIN CITY STREETS By: Brian E. Oison, Principal City Engineer Background: As part of the discussion about the expansion of the Public Works facility, Staff was directed to proceed with the process to combine the north and south facilities to accommodate our need for additional space for Public Works. The section of street being discussed tonight can be best shown on the attached illustration and is described as follows: Proposed 142ND Avenue N.W. Street Vacation Description That part of 142"d Avenue N.W. as dedicated and depicted on the recorded of GATEWAY NORTH INDUSTRIAL PARK, Anoka County, Minnesota, described as follows: That part of said 142nd Avenue N.W. lying westerly of the southerly extension of the east line of Lot 3, Block 2, said GATEWAY NORTH INDUSTRIAL PARK and easterly of the southerly extension of the westerly line of said Lot 3. Together with the southerly half of said 142Da Avenue N.W. lying westerly of the southerly extension of the westerly line of said Lot 3 and easterly of the westerly line of Limonite Street N.W. as dedicated and depicted on said recorded plat of GATEWAY NORTH INDUSTRIAL PARK. Probable future public purpose for this segment can be protected with the use of drainage and utility easement. A public hearing was held on this proposed vacation on July 23, 2002 and no comments were offered. This ordinance was introduced at the July 23, 2002 City Council meeting and is available for adoption at this meeting. Recommendation: Staff recommends adopting an ordinance to vacate the subject street segment. Council Action: Motion to adopt ordinance 02-XX vacating certain city street.
