Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember Susan E. Anderson Councilmember Terry Hendriksen Councilmember Patti Kurak Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman Also Present: City Administrator James E. Norman Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Anderson called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:44 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT None. APPROVE AGENDA The agenda was approved as submitted. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #1: Authorize Hiring of Community Development Assistant Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained that as a part of its 2002 budget, the Council authorized an Associate Planner position for the Community Development Department. The position of Associate Planner was filled via an internal promotion of the Community Development Assistant, Megan Wald. Ms. Wald assumed the duties of Associate Planner in March of 2002 and Council authorized staff to proceed with recruitment for the Community Development Assistant position. Staff advertised the position internally and one letter of interest was received. After reviewing the internal letter of interest, staff decided to proceed with an external recruitment for the Community Development Assistant position.
