-24- <br /> <br />applications were received and five applicants were interviewed on May 15, 2002 by a panel <br />consisting of the Community Development Director, Principal Planner, and the Assistant City <br />Administrator. One phone interview was conducted with a candidate that currently resides in <br />and works for the City of Ventura, California. A follow-up video teleconference interview was <br />conducted with the California candidate, Christopher Anderson. Based on the panel's <br />recommendation, staff is recommending hiring Christopher Anderson for the position of full- <br />time Community Development Assistant at a starting wage of $17.27/hour plus benefits and will <br />accrue two weeks of vacation per year. Mr. Anderson's hiring would be contingent on successful <br />completion of background checks and he must pass an employment physical and drug/alcohol <br />screen. If approved, Cln:istopher Anderson's start date would be July 1, 2002. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to recommend that the City <br />Council hire Christopher Anderson for the position of full-time Community Development <br />Assistant at a starting wage of $17.27/hour plus benefits and two weeks vacation, contingent on <br />successful completion of background checks, employment physical, and drug/alcohol screen. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Receive Information about Resignation of Full-Time Human Resources <br />Manager and Authorize Recruitment Process to Hire Full-Time Human <br />Resources Manager <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson reviewed that on June 10, 2002, Rhonda Heryla submitted <br />her resignation with an effective date of June 30, 2002. As a result of Ms. Heryla's resignation, <br />the position of Human Resources Manager will be vacant.
