To his knowledge thc County has never <br />required road repair as parc of a hauling permit. <br /> <br />Mr. Thompson's neighbor stated that T.H. 47 is not designed for the amount of'truck traffic <br />occurring now, tie agreed that Mr. Thompson has a right to excavate Ns property but expressed <br />concern about the road and its condition a/let-ward. <br /> <br />Resident, ~5200 177th Lane N.W., stated that Ns main concern is that his property abuts County <br />Road 63, and he will experience dust and dirt blowing offthe road from the truck traffic, liejust <br />resided Ns house and does not want to have to wash it once a week. He asked if the time rrm-ne <br />for hauling could be narrowed to three months. Also, there are many pine trees along County <br />Road 63, and there could be unsafe driving conditions with the unlevel road ~vhere the trucks e,-dt. <br />He is not against the projec~ but would like to see the proper contr°ls in place, so that there is not <br />a disadvantage to residenrs. <br /> <br />City Engineer Iankowksi stated that Mr. Thompson is required to put up a $10,000 letter of credit <br />that will be used to repair any adverse conditions that result fi-om tkis permit. <br /> <br />One resident asked if' this work could be used to pressure M. nFDOT to reconstruct T.li. 47. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that T.li. 47 is scheduled for reconstruction in 1999, along with <br />the replacement of Trout Brook Bridge, four major culverts and a complete overlay fi-om County <br />Road 5 to Bums Townsh/p. <br /> <br />AD JO U'RxNTvlT~NT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Holland, seconded by Commissioner Deemer to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Morion. carried.
