At that
time, $262,000 in Park Trust Fund monies was appropriated - with the goal of
completing a $400,000 project before June 30t~, 2002.

The project will be completed on schedule, and as a result, the City will receive the
$ i00,000 grant from the Minnesota Department of Children, Families and Learning and
the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission. Counting Staff time towards this project
results in the $400,000 plus project amount, and effectively nets a return on the City's
$262,000 cash investment of 33%.

Attached to this case is the activity ledger for the ElmcreSt project. A few items remain
to be completed - however the total dollar figures is within a few percent of accuracy.

Staff will provide a verbal summary of each element of the spring project at the meeting.

Council Action:

None Required.

Reviewed by:

Copies to:

Parks and Utilities Supervisor
Director of Public Works
Finance Officer

Park and Recreation Commission
Principal City Engineer
City Engineer

CC: 06/25/02

-341-
