PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at the <br />Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at <br />6:05 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Authorize Hiring of Public Works Maintenance Worker <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that due to the resignation of a Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker effective March 1, 2002, a vacancy was created in the Public Works <br />Department. A recruitment process was initiated in mid-March 2002; the position was posted <br />internally and one application was received by the deadline. The application was reviewed and <br />the Public Works Director and Assistant City Administrator decided to proceed with an external <br />recruitment process. 71 applications were received. The applications were reviewed and <br />interviews were conducted with 11 candidates by a panel consisting of the Public Works <br />Director, Parks/Utilities Supervisor, Public Works Street Supervisor, Public Works Lead Person, <br />and Assistant City Administrator. Based on the panel's recommendation, staff recommended <br />hiring Todd Marlette fbr the position of Public Works Maintenance Worker. <br /> <br />Personnel Committee/Mayl4, 2002 <br /> Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br />-51- <br /> <br /> <br />
