-28-

Mr. Johnson replied that he had talked to a couple different cities and they seemed comfortable
with the level of service.provided.

City Administrator Norman noted that Logis is government entity not a private sector.

Councilmember Hendriksen stated that some of the questions that need to be answered are what
are the costs associated with Logis, is there a contract that needs to be signed. He had previously
heard good things about Netmark and he personally interviewed with them. To him it seems as
if once there was a staff change everyone became unhappy with Netmark. He felt that it was a
personnel issue more than anything. Think what they need to do is to find someone who can
perform well for the City. If the personnel issue cannot be resolved by Netmark they should be
looking at another vendor rather.than looking solely at Logis.

Mr. Johnson replied thatNetmark has been informed many times about the problems and has not
corrected the issue. '~ other re'fin Logis was recommended was that the City already uses
Logis for some serviCes: and the overall cost should be lower.

Councilmember Hendriksen stated-~at if thTat statement was true then he might agree, but his
impression is that Logis will bemore eXpensi~: and less responsive.

Mr. Johnson replied that in the case of Logis at the end of the day if they have a higher cost it is
because they have a higher cost mo~ei, but thegi;'~h~id be able to offer the service at a market

Councilmember Hendriksen stated that they :h~bd to, :: :~at " the costs in order to make those
comparisons. He inquired if those costs were ~vailabI'e~:~ .;~;

Mr. Johnson replied no, explaining that the costs would de~nd on the: services they provide. He
recommended that the City submit a list of services that they would::l;ike Logis to provide for a
price quote.

City Administrator Norman stated that he would get a quote"~om Logis.

Councilmember Hendriksen stated that it was his perception that very few cities use the services
of Logis.

Mr. Johnson replied that he had thought that four or five cities used Log'is for desktop support.

Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to what cities those were.

City Administrator Norman replied that he will get the names of those cities and report back to
the Council.

City Council/January 15, 2002
