-68-

Councilmember Hendriksen stated that his past objection to the service was because of the cost
and requested a review of what the overall cost of the service would be and what was included in
that cost.

Mr. Bums reviewed the proposed cost for creating, hosting and maintaining the City's website
and the costs for the GovDelivery system. He explained that typically after the starmp fee there
is not much in the way of add-on costs other than the monthly charge. The initial start-up fee
would include converting 50 documents or no more than 1,500 pages to on-line format .initially
and then GovDocs will train designated staff to do those conversions in the future.

Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if the documents that GovDocs converted would be retyped
or would they be scanned.

Mr. Bums rephed that :some ~tems"~9 scanned, some are reformatted.

Councilmember Hend~en incLu, i..~. if }~[e was any limitation in terms of bandwidth or volume
of documents.

Mr. Bums replied that there ~fila bb~9 li ..m:~on either of those items for the City of Ramsey.
He explained that the GovDeli~,ery Sy~b~2~etup to handle up to 100,000 e-mails and they are
currently less than 50 percent capac~;~?

Councilmember Hendriksen inquire~J~Ci~)7~couldt,~ :, be charged if they reach certain

Mr. Bums rephed no, explanung that they rnt~e ~~ate Om>what the usage will be at that
· ~ncluded' ' the fee.
