A Citizen's Recommendations for Enhancement of <br />The Ponds Planned Unit Development located in Ramsey <br /> <br />Intent: <br />As a citizen of Ramsey I w~uld like to propose the following recommendations in support of the city for a <br />well planned development that will protect the natural features of the area, ensures existing house values <br />and quality of neighborhood, minimizes the environmental impact and preserves the natural resources of <br />wetlands and w(x3dlands. My primary concerns are centered on the following key areas; <br /> <br /> I. Protection of the Environm~nt <br /> II. Preservation of Trees and/or Wcx:x:llands <br /> III. Preservation of unique resources and wetlands <br /> IV. Maintaining existing property values and blending with current developments <br /> <br />Use Guiding Pflnciples: <br />The city has set forth some excellent guiding principles in a Comprehensive Plan to ensure coordinated, <br />ordedy and economic developments can be achieved in an effective manner. I strongly urge you to <br />review s~3me of the key points of the comprehensive plan and evaluate the proposed development for <br />compliance wffh them. Some key points for your immediate reference. <br /> <br />A place for Well Planned and Controlled Growth .... <br /> - Plan for new housing that protects natural featUres, existing housing values and neighberhcx~d <br /> identity and quality. <br /> - Encourage environmentally sensitive and open space design and construction techniques that <br /> preserve natural resources. <br /> <br />A place with Sustainable Clean and Healthy Environment .... <br /> - Protect, preserve and enhance the supply of clean water and air for current and future <br /> generations. <br /> <br />A place to preserve Natural Re.~ources .... <br /> - Conserve and improve and essential natural resources including w~Uands, lakes, dvers, and' <br /> wo(x:llands. <br /> <br />A place to Play and F~ecmate .... <br /> - Create an effective and efficient system of parks and trails that meet the needs of both urban <br /> and rural residents.' <br /> <br />-171- <br /> <br /> <br />
