Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he was presuming that i~he fees would be collected to cover any damage that would not be apparent initially. He did not feel that the. fees would be used to cover the case where a contractor does a terrible job and breaks up a driveway and then walks away because they paid their $20.00. Consensus of the Committee was to direct staff to research the actual cost of replacing driveways both bituminous and concrete and report back to the Committee. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos noted-that it was important to point out that the public participation portion would be used as an in-kind match for the greenways grant application as well. Councilmember Kurak inquired if the $55,000 was currently in a fund' to pay for the plan and how did LHB expect to be paid. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that currently in the Trail fees fund there is $28,000, but staff anticipates to have several lots platted in 2002 in which they will collect trail fees from.
