PC CASE #: q <br /> <br /> RECEIVE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR APPOINTMENTS <br />TO PLANNING COMMISSION, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, AND PARK & <br />RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> By: Rhonda Heryla, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the end of 2001, there were several commissions requiring new appointments or reappointments. The <br />list of pending appointments includes: <br /> <br />Planning Commission: <br />Kathleen Sweet for reappointment <br />Eric Watson for reappointment <br />Ralph Brauer for reappointment <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority: <br />One vacancy to replace Kenneth Wagner <br /> <br />Park & Recreation Commission: <br />Jon Olds for reappointment <br />Steve Ostrum for reappointment (this is a correction from previous information) <br />Michael Rolfe for reappointment (this is a correction from previous information) <br />One vacancy to replace Reid Droegemueller <br /> <br />The vacancies were advertised and thirteen (13) people submitted letters of interest. All thirteen <br />applicants were offered an interview, and ten applicants scheduled an interview. Interviews were held on <br />February 4, 2002, and the interview panel consisted of members of the City Council as well as chairs and <br />vice-chairs of the commissions: Ralph Brauer, Pete Stanius, and Ahdrew Marchant were unable to make <br />the interviews, and staff will contact them for either an interview or written responses to questions <br />depending on how the City Council would like to proceed. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council approve the following reappointments and/or appointments to the <br />commissions: <br /> <br />Planning Commission <br /> <br />for a term to expire December 31, 2005. <br /> <br />for a term to expire December 31, 2005. <br /> <br />for a term to expire December 31, 2005. <br /> <br />-343- <br /> <br /> <br />
