Voting No: Councilmember Hendriksen. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to introduce Ordinance #02-01- <br />~ to rezone the subject property from R-IR Residential, B-1. Business, and B-2 Business to <br />R-3 U Multi-Family Residential, based on the finding of fact. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Hendr/ksen questioned the approval process. Community <br />Development Director Frolik explained that at this point the ordnance was being introduced and <br />would have to come back for fmal adoption once the Met Council approves the Comprehensive <br />Plan Amendment. Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to what would happen if they don't <br />approve the request within [~,~days. City Attorney Goodrich replied then the action would <br />automatically be approved..2~}i~cilmember Hendr/ksen inquired if delay by the Met Council <br />could cause the request:tO:be appalled. Voting <br />No: Councilmembers Hendr/keen andZi~an. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec recessed the regular <br /> <br />at 8:55 p.m, <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of <br /> <br />ack to order at 9:03 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #8: <br /> <br />Request for an Interim Use <br />Outdoor Storage; Case of Kenko, Inc. <br /> <br />Office Structure and <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik stated that Kenko,~.,,~,,, ~ . an application <br />for an. Interim Use Permit to allow them to 'use property locked at the northeast comer of I47m <br />Ave. and Ferret St. for outdoor storage and to place a temporary office structure on the property. <br />Kenko is asking that the Interim Use Permit be in place for five years to allow-them to figure out <br />how they would like to use the property. The property is currently zoned Industrial and is <br />included in an ordinance adopted by the City Council on June 26, 2001, placing it within the <br />boundaries of a 24-month development moratorium. The ordinance states that interim use <br />permits may be considered during the moratorium. City Code states that an interim use permit <br />can be in effect for a maximum of 5 years. The applicant is planning on placing a six-foot kigh <br />chain link fence around the area to be used for outdoor storage and the mobile office building. <br />The mobile office building will be 8' x 32' and will be used to assist their local operations. The <br />area inside the chain-link fence will be surfaced with Class 5. Kenko has submitted a drainage <br />and grading plan that is generally acceptable, but will require a permit fi.om the Lower Rum <br />River Watershed Management Organization (LRRWMO).
